For the most demanding, AMERICAN BAR/SNACK MENU Salt&Sweet available: Our study weekend will become a real party!

You saw the program, didn’t you?
Dynamic: Listening? Connection? Music? Or musicality?

Yes, these are all key elements we discuss a lot, and we read even more about it: Let’s talk about these topics, but – come on – let’s do it on the dance floor!
Or, even better, let’s do it in the dance hall!

Sure, but how?
Well, it’s up to you!

Anna Maria Ferrara

If you think that to improve your tango you only have to go to the milonga, our proposal is not for you, sorry.
If you believe that to improve our tango, we also need to deepen all this —Dynamic Listening Connection Music and Musicality— and study a bit more each time, you’re reading the right post.

Perhaps you’re thinking that you’re already enrolled in a course and already studying enough? Or perhaps you have been studying for a long time and have already heard and practiced all this over and over again?
I understand, would you like to do it, but reading the word Studio is giving you hives? Or worse, you are already bored.

To answer your question, let me ask you one last question: have you ever studied with Anna Maria Ferrara?

Because that’s what it’s all about —the tool we use for our study!
(Forgive me Anna Maria if I used the words “instrument” and “use” while talking about you)
Like Tango itself, these topics are crossing the centuries and for who knows how much longer, but are we sure that they have crossed our bodies in the meantime?
Because that is also what this is all about.

Too many questions, maybe you’re right, but those are the ones I ask myself when I read about Tango, when I watch Tango, when I wonder about Tango and what I can do to improve, since my work is at the service of Tango.

Okay, no more questions, just a few more lines, if you would like to know why you should learn with Anna Maria Ferrara.

Because she taught me how to walk.

“Well, that’s your business!” you’ll tell me.

You’re right, I don’t really think anyone cares who taught me how to walk.

But the point is that with Anna Maria I felt for the first time that, while walking, I was dancing.

I thought I was already doing it, since I had already studied and danced for four years.
But with Anna Maria I found out that for four years I had studied and practiced a lot, but I still wasn’t dancing for real.
(Note: Awareness)

From that point, I felt a different sensation in my body, my back, my legs, my feet, my torso, my hips, my neck, my arms, as I set the pace they moved in a different way, I felt as if I was entering the music, as if I was the one playing. A new and wonderful sensation: I was no longer moving along with the music, but I was dancing.
And so it has been for 23 years now, every time I study with Anna Maria… Is she a fairy?!

Or maybe she is just attentive, sharp, never banal, always down-to-earth, communicative, didactically… you’ll find out, empathetic, imaginative, generous, intuitive, linear, punctual as much as resolute, shrewd, technically a true marvel, …It’s difficult to describe Anna Maria’s teaching and professionalism in a few words, and if you already know her you know that, but if you don’t… I can only say “Trust me”!
